My Theme FAQ
1. How do you get the flash header on my Wordpress blog, like your Photoblog?
Download the Flash Fader plugin for Wordpress by clicking here: Flash Fader 1.1. Install as per the instructions. You need to create some images that are big enough to fit your theme and upload them through the flash fader plugin – I would suggest 998 px wide and a height of 300 px.
2. I want my categories at the top of the page in Wordpress, how do I do this?
Unfortunately, it is not that straight forward. Please see this. It can be done, but it’s a little fiddly. Otherwise I would consider installing the My Page Links to plugin and having a page point to each category which would be much simpler.
3. What plugins do you recommend for Wordpress?
I am currently using NextGEN gallery, My page links to and My Page Order, in addition to the flash fader shown in point 1. The gallery is a perfect add on to any photoblog site, and I cannot reccomend "My page links to" enough simply because you can add your own links to your menu, not just your own pages within your blog.
4. Are your Wordpress themes Widget friendly?
Yes you can use widgets, I do so myself on my own personal blog. Please note that widgets are NOT supported in my photoblog themes as there is no sidebar, only one column. I am working on this though, but it is difficult to keep the bottom of the page tidy with so much stuff down there.
